Puppet Theater
Puppetry is a mysterious and mystical art form. I love creating characters from scratch, often from recycled materials. Something from nothing. My interest was piqued during a Waldorf teacher training. It just grows. Some stories just beg for puppets. Some stories use the puppet in ways that go beyond the human actor’s body and capacity. Objects being beings, others symbolize or are metaphors for memory, time, characters, forces of nature. The subject (an actor) may observe its puppet self as object, and can see what the puppet yearns to do. Yeah, then the puppet transforms to subject, an agent who moves in its own world.
